How to Win Over Poker Bots?

Posted by Gregory Bogopolski On 5:12 AM 11 comments

Ever since poker games appeared in an online casino, poker bots has been around. Poker bots is a piece of software which is capable of beating human players in any kind of instance even without tilting, without getting tired and without even getting bored.

Although poker bots have the capability to beat average or reasonably good poker players, still there's no any technology exist that can beat best poker players.

Laak and Ali Eslami beat the computer opponent provided for them by the University of Alberta fair and square, the only worrying issue is though, that they too won by the narrowest of margins. As we all know, there are few players in online poker that could ever hope to match either Laak or Eslami, indeed, the technology to beat most human opponents, is a reality already.

In order to achieve what the Alberta crew did with their bot, dishonest players will need exactly what they did, a whole crew working round the clock for a good few weeks programming the machine.

Gambling Superstitions – Is it Worth Believing?

Posted by Gregory Bogopolski On 2:42 AM 6 comments

Gamblers probably the second person who believed in superstitions next to physic or fortune tellers. They anticipate that superstitions sometimes delivers luck. They will do anything to improve their chances of winning even if such superstition is beyond reality. They even carry themselves any lucky charms or perform some sort of ritual before and after they go for a casino play.

From that believe, psychologists have made some studies to determine the relationship between gambling and superstitions. According to the study, superstitions can develop in many gamblers and become a basis for their future gambling sessions. If the player has won, he looks at what transpired during the winning session. This is where a player may decide that an article of clothing or some other activity was “responsible” for their good fortune. Likewise if a player loses, he will look to see what may have caused his misfortune. If a player has one or two losing sessions with a particular dealer, they may develop a feeling that the dealer is unlucky and unbeatable.

But as far as we know, not all superstitions are developed by personal observations and many gamblers just buy into the existing beliefs that have been passed down through the ages. They may choose to believe that something is unlucky and avoid it as to not tempt fate. Others may test a superstition only to discover a self fulfilling a prophecy with their actions. If you think it is unlucky to sit with your legs crossed while playing poker and you do it, you may just lose because subconsciously you expect to lose. If you do lose, it will only reinforce the belief.
